John Young

John Young is the founder and owner of Preferred Ergonomics. He was born and raised in South Florida, where he still resides with his daughter, Madison. John grew up loving to learn about how things worked, which led him to study and become an electronic warfare operator in the US Navy. After 6 years of working and teaching in the military, John broke a bone in his lower back, causing him a great deal of pain. He then became interested in learning about the many steps he could take to develop a stronger back that caused less pain. Once honorably discharged from the Navy, John took up studying kinesiology at Florida Atlantic University. He there learned all about muscle movement and how it affected overall health. When it came time for John to graduate, and find his way into an office, he found the office workstation was not conducive to his injured back. In the midst of working, he found an ergonomic chair which would eventually change his working habits all together and virtually end his back pain. John thought what better way to use his kinesthetic knowledge, than to share the ergonomic world with others. It is with this conjunction of service and knowledge that John found his passion for ergonomics and founded Preferred Solutions Group.
